“I’m Cherokee. Since I was a little girl, my mom has called me Feather. It kind of just followed me, the feather spirit. Now, I’m working with the medicines of the feather. Dialing into our wild natures. We are birds of a feather, wings of the serpent. It’s really powerful. I have girls telling me that the feathers have given them free life spirit. It warms my heart.”
“My creations are like medicine for people, so they can heal. Everything is channeled. It’s not even made. It’s my hands moving. I just relax and let it go through my body. To me, it’s more than just an artist doing work. It’s almost shamanic. When I put the lightning bolt, it’s coming from the ether, coming from the sky.”
“I keep coming back to festivals because it’s like family, unlimited creation. Every time, I have epiphanies, come back to myself, remember how to let loose and be fun and creative. To Play. Celebrate.”
“I’m just flowing right now. I got a bus, and I converted it into a little house. And I’m trying to find out where that house needs to go.”
“As the eclipse happened, my heart started beating really fast. Then it didn’t feel real for a second. ⠀ ⠀ It felt blissful, like everything was still and at peace.”⠀
“I was laughing and crying at the same time. Unbelievable. I can’t put the eclipse into words. I almost cry again when I think about it. The most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”
“I grew up in a small surfer town with reggae and country roots, but I traveled to L.A. for my first festival, Hard Summer Fest, in 2012. Since then I’ve been to more than 20 music festivals and counting. The exposure to music, art and dance in a judgment-free atmosphere inspires you to bring positive energy back into your everyday life. Music definitely brings people together, but it’s festivals that create lasting communities.”
“I started blowing glass in 1996. So, 21 years ago when I came off the Grateful Dead tour. I had an option to blow glass instead of going to prison. I had my own store, and his mother blew glass, too. It was a way for us to raise our children. I’ve taught hundreds of people. I’m teaching my son now, and I think he’s going to be really good at it.”
“I’ve actually just started opening my heart—open to receiving love. Because I am finally loving myself. It’s really important who I’m picking to have in my life. That way, I can absorb love and give love. It’s a symbiotic relationship. And now that I receive love, not to become too attached. To flow.”
“We were really good festival buddies, we used to go on road trips all the time. When he passed away, I asked his aunt for some of his ashes. She said, ‘Yes, as long as you promise to keep his spirit alive.’ He goes on every adventure with me.”
“Coming to festivals makes me feel good about what I’m doing with my life, because the people you surround yourself with are a reflection of you. I’m surrounded by amazing people. Perhaps I’m pretty amazing, too.”
“I’m here to prototype a new medium for creating a shared direct experience. It’s a combination of Android Jones artwork and live visuals, synched with 3D sound, and a style of performance. It’s an identity reflection tool. It slows down time through movement, and it enters into different archetypes very fluidly. All the unsaids, unfelts, and unheards get processed in the same way. It’s a collective catharsis.”
“The power of crystal love.”
“You should wear what makes you feel good. You’re not wearing it for anybody else. You’re wearing it to express yourself in a way that makes you feel beautiful.”
“I’m a producer and a DJ. I work with everything from deep house, to moombahton, to hardstyle, psytrance, jungle terror and latin tech house. I make sure each genre is very funky. I’ve been a dancer my whole life. I started producing mixes for my dance team and other dance teams. If I can’t dance to it, I’m not going to play it.”
